Seit Anfang November steht auf dem Gerold-Areal im Zürcher Kreis 5 ein riesiges weisses Zelt. Am Abend können Passanten Videos sehen, die an die Innenwände projiziert werden, und auch die Gäste, die das Spektakel – und natürlich die Gerichte – genießen. Es ist das The5, ein weltweit einzigartiges Restaurant, angefangen bei seinem Konzept:
Fünf Spitzenköche aus dem In- und Ausland haben fünf verschiedene Gänge kreiert, die jeweils einer eigenen Farb- und Geschmackswelt entsprechen. Diese werden im Rahmen eines spektakulären Dinners serviert, zu dem auch 360°-Videoprojektionen über eine Vielzahl von Aspekten der Kochkunst gehören. Das Ziel: den Gast auf eine kulinarische Reise der Sinne mitzunehmen.
Abendessen mit einem Weltklasseteam
Und das fängt in der Küche an: mit fünf weltberühmten Spitzenköchen. Rebecca Clopath ist zweifache Junioren-Weltmeisterin im Kochen, außerdem Landwirtin und Buchautorin. Heiko Nieder wurde von GaultMillau zum «Koch des Jahres 2019» und von der Frankfurter Allgemeinen Sonntagszeitung zum «Koch des Jahres 2019 International» gekürt. Mitja Birlo ist mit einem Michelin-Stern und 18 GaultMillau-Punkten ausgezeichnet – ebenso wie Rolf Fliegauf. Er war außerdem der jüngste 2-Sterne-Koch in Europa und wurde als «der Größte seiner Generation» bezeichnet.
Ana Roš, die 2017 zur besten Köchin der Welt gekürt wurde, ist das fünfte Mitglied der Gruppe. Sie hat sich ihr Handwerk selbst beigebracht, und ihr Erfolg brachte ihr einen Auftritt in der Netflix-Dokumentation «Chef’s Table» ein. Diese fünf Weltklasse-Köche haben zusammen satte 72 Gault Millau-Punkte und acht Michelin-Sterne.
Jeder von ihnen hat ein anderes Gericht zubereitet, das entweder in einer eher «klassischen» Version – mit Fleisch oder Fisch – oder in einer vegetarischen Variante gewählt werden kann. Letztere ist vegan, laktose- und glutenfrei. Außerdem werden die fünf Gänge von einer sorgfältig ausgewählten Weinkarte begleitet. Zum Abendessen gehören auch ein Begrüßungsgetränk, Mineralwasser, Kaffee und ein Digestif.
Zeitplan und Hygienekonzept
The5 öffnet täglich um 18.30 Uhr. Der erste Gang wird um 19.00 Uhr serviert und das Abendessen endet um 23.00 Uhr. Das Pop-up-Restaurant wurde am 09. November eröffnet und wird bis zum 19. Dezember geöffnet sein.
Im The5 gilt die 3-G-Regel. Das bedeutet, dass die Gäste entweder geimpft, genesen oder getestet sein müssen, um das Dinner genießen zu können. Eine Bescheinigung über die Impfung oder Genesung oder ein kürzlich durchgeführter negativer Test ist für den Besuch erforderlich.
