Österreichische Bundesbahnen (ÖBB) hat kürzlich angekündigt, dass es Ende des Monats seine Nachtzuglinien wieder aufnehmen wird.
Nach so vielen Monaten im Lockdown scheint das Reisen attraktiver denn je. Doch nicht jeder ist bereit, dies um jeden Preis zu tun: Billigfluglinien stehen wegen der von ihnen verursachten Umweltverschmutzung in der Kritik und bereits mehrere Länder diskutieren über ein Verbot von Kurzstreckenflügen.
Nun, wenn Ihr gerne nachhaltig reist und mal etwas anderes ausprobieren wollt, habt Ihr bald die perfekte Gelegenheit. Denn Österreichischen Bundesbahnen (ÖBB) hat angekündigt, dass die meisten Nachtzugverbindungen, die aufgrund von Corona eingestellt wurden, nach und nach wieder aufgenommen werden.
Der Nightjet der ÖBB verbindet die wichtigsten Städte Mitteleuropas in einem Netz, das von Hamburg bis nach Rom reicht. Von Zürich aus kann man direkt in die norddeutsche Stadt und nach Wien fahren. Eine aktuelle Karte des Zug-Netzes findet Ihr hier.
Außerdem soll in den kommenden Jahren das Netz in Mitarbeit mit weiteren europäischen Partnern wachsen. Ab Dezember 2021 sind Direktverbindungen von Zürich nach Amsterdam geplant. Ab Ende 2022 bis nach Rom und für 2024 ist sogar ein Nachtzug von Zürich nach Barcelona im Gespräch.
Mit dem Nightjet könnt am ehesten erleben, was Zugreisen zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts waren – aber natürlich mit den Annehmlichkeiten unserer Zeit. Ihr könnt zwischen verschiedenen Reiseoptionen wählen: Es gibt einen Sitzwagen, einen Liegewagen, einen Schlafwagen und einen, in dem Ihr sogar eure eigene Dusche habt.
